WHEN

July 3 & 4, 2020

Introduction

Advanced analytical techniques are used from the stages of drug development to marketing and post marketing surveillance. Analytical techniques play a great role in understanding the physical and chemical stability of the drug molecules, design of the dosage forms, identification and quantitation of the impurities in drug substances and drug products and assessing the content of drug in the marketed products. The analysis of drug and its metabolite is extensively applied in the pharmacokinetic studies. Advanced analytical techniques like HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS, NMR are widely used to get insights into identity, purity, quantity and sample integrity of pharmaceuticals. The aim of the present workshop is to familiarise the utility of modern Analytical Techniques for Quality Control of Pharmaceuticals.

Objectives

  • To have clear understanding of analytes separation in HPLC and UHPLC

  • To explore HPLC operation and trouble shooting

  • To familiarize with LC-MS operation and its applications.

  • To learn about the history of nuclear spin discovery and applications in chemistry, medicine and imaging.

  • To perceive properties of nuclear spin, sensitivity of NMR signal, chemical shifts, coupling constant and influence of dihedral angles on coupling constants.

  • To understand applications of DEPT, 1D sel-NOE, 1D sel-TOCSY with examples.

  • To appreciate the importance of parameter optimization for recording 1D 1H, 13C experiments on AV-500 MHz Bruker NMR spectrometer with a practical demonstration.

Benefits of attending

  • Understand basic to advanced scientific concepts from expert speakers

  • Participants will be given digital certificate of attendance
